It is that time of the year at the farm when the baby calves arrive. The girls always love going to the farm but especially when they might get a chance to pet a baby calf in the barn or watch them kick up their heels & tear around in the straw. Two years ago Grandpa gave each of the girls a heifer from a set of twins that he had. Natalie's is black & does not have a name for her. Dana's is a mousy grey with a white face & calls her Mabelle. This year was especially exciting as those heifers would be having their first calf. Dana's arrived on April 9th & Natalie's on April 14th so we made a trip out to the farm to see them last Sunday. Plus it was a chance for me to take the new Highlander out for a highway drive! Dana's was out in a pen & was harder to catch, but Nat's was still int the barn so she got a chance to get up close.

Awwww, I miss that time on the farm. I bet my kids would love seeing the babies too :-)
ReplyDeleteI am sure that they would love it! The weather is milder than usual too because Mom & Dad pushed back the calving.
