Thank-you & Love cards for the card boxes

These cards are all similar based on the design by Darleen Adamo.  I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie & Daffodil Yellow on the first cards.  On the second cards, I used Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango & Summer Starfruit.  For the layout I just altered positioning of the butterflies.  I think I like it better where all the butterflies are lined up.

These are some cards from January's My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I like the stamps but I am just not digging the colours for the spring.  The geometrical designs are growing on me but I am not sure that I love them.

This is a card based on one by Justin Krieger.  I have changed up the colours (trying to use up my Pretty in Pink).  I think I have plenty of Valentine's cards made up but they are just so fun to make!

On to card boxes...

I have decided to make a few card boxes to give as gifts through out the year so I am making some cards for various occasions to include in them.  I have been looking around for a box design that will hold 12 cards (this is yet to come) but these are some of the cards...

These are sympathy cards with Lovely as a Tree stamp set for the image & Love & Sympathy stamp set for the sentiment.  It also uses an embossing folder to give the texture of tree bark to the front of the card.

These cards are done with the Love & Sympathy stamp sets.  I always find simplicity is best with Sympathy cards.  This is one layer & the only embellishment is a adhesive pearl.

A little more Christmas/winter

I still have not put the Christmas stamp sets away & I keep making cards for next year.  I am so ahead of myself...

This is a stamp set that Duane bought me for Christmas & I LOVE it.  I have a stamp carving set that I plan on making a Dala horse stamp but I have not got brave enough to try to out.  This one is ready to go & fun to play with.

This was my December Happy Mail Swap.  It uses a cute stamp set call Best of Snow.

This card is also from the Best of Snow with a similar design.  It will be for a February Birthday.  I need to make up some more birthday cards for my stash.

This is another card that does not require any stamps, just an embossing folder & paper.  I liked the design but felt it needed something else.  I did not want to add actual buttons to the front of the card (I thought it would be to weighty) then I remembered that I have a die that cuts & makes a design on paper to look like buttons.  Perfect!

This one I was playing around with a design that I saw on Pinterest as a Valentine's Day card but I made it into a Christmas card instead.

This is a card that I made with the Joyful Christmas stamp set.  This was our stamp set of the month for November & there were so many interesting cards made with it.  I made the first card using Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Unfortunately you can not see the effect in the photo.  The second card, I used gold embossing powder & I quite liked that effect too.  The last photo is of the sentiment on the inside of the card.  I have made about 12 of these cards for next Christmas.  There was a lot of cutting but I did all my stamping & then did my cutting while watching TV with the girls one evening.  I am not a big fan of fussy cutting but it is doable for a small number of cards & it gives the desired effect.

Inspiration from Pinterest

Now that all the Christmas festivities are over, I spent some time playing with my stamps & paper & this is what I came up with…

I saw a card like this on Pinterest & adapted it slightly to make use of the supplies that I had.

Once I was playing around with Valentine's I also made this card.  No stamping involved just punches & embossing folder.  I think that Dana will like this one.

I decided to make some baby cards. Again I adapted this from Pinterest using different colours & background papers.

I loved this card from Pinterest & just knew that I would have to try it.  This will also make a great masculine birthday card in a pinch.

I like to make a few Christmas cards while I am still inspired & have not put away the stamp sets.  It is good to have a few on hand for next Christmas.

This is similar design just different coloured card but I have to admit that I like the simplicity of the white card better.

This is a fun card that was part of the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I loved this one & know that I will use the stamps for future cards.

I can't believe it

It has been over 2 months since I last posted here.  I am sure that I forgot to take pictures of some of the things that I made but will try to catch up now & resolve to be better for the New Year. At least once every two weeks…that is what I am scheduling in my calendar anyway.  I post a card every Friday on a Facebook page, so I don't think it will be too hard.

This is a card that I made for no particular reason other than inspiration on Pinterest.  I LOVE how it turned out.

This card is for a friend that retired from the Edmonton Police force.  We went to his retirement party at the Sheraton downtown & it was a lot of fun.

This card is for the sad occasion when our neighbours the Jakeways had to put down their dog Dakota.  We looked after him a few times while they were away on holidays, so we will miss him too!

These are some cards that I made at a workshop & then gave away as a hostess gift when we went for supper at Natalie's BFF's parents.

This is card that I made for my November Happy Mail swap.  It was for my friend Karina so I put on extra bling with the strip of rhinestones & embossed silver foil.

This is a card that I made to post on Krafting Krew Facebook page.  I was just playing around with my stamps & paper.

Dana had a Christmas party with her friends at our house so I made these cute Snowman favours for all the girls.  Inside is a York peppermint patty.

For this card I just played around with some left over stamped images & paper that I had after making my sister a set of Christmas cards.  I stamped the image with Stazon ink & then water coloured it to brighten it up.

These are the favours that I made for Natalie's power skating coaches.  The design of the treat holder came from Monica Gale (via Pinterest).  Inside each "mug" is a hot chocolate package & a candy cane.

Natalie liked this design so we made a similar one for her school friends.  She made homemade marshmallow & cut them out with a cookie cutter then attached to the candy cane.  The marshmallows turned out great & were a huge hit.
