Crochet cowboy booties

I have been working on a pair of crochet cowboy booties for the past couple of days.  I made one with some yarn that I was not completely happy with so I bought something else and have now completed a pair.  I still have to sew on the embellishments but I am going to wait until we find out if it is a boy or girl and sew on pink or blue stars.  I think that I will also attempt to make a pink and blue hat band for the cowboy hat I made earlier.  I have decided that my next project is going to be a Viking hat that I think I will make in a 6 month to 1 year old size.  It will be perfect given the Norwegian/Swedish ancestry of this babe.  This is so much fun!

Crochet hat

Well I was able to find my crochet hook. Yipee!  I managed to make a 0-3 mo size cowboy hat tonight & it turned out well.  I will take a picture of it in the morning in better light & will get started on the cowboy booties.

Getting ready

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to complete anything.  The day was spent getting supplies cut for a card I am making & buying yarn for my next baby project.  I found the yarn at Michael's so now I just have to find my 6.00mm crochet hook.  It has to be around here some where. Aghhhh...

Cards

I have been trying to do something creative everyday. There are lots of ideas in my head and many projects on the go but this weekend I played around with my paper and stamps.  I came up with 2 variations for the 2 card designs I made. The 'You Are My Sunshine' is inspired by Justin Krieger of jk.wordpress.com from Pinterest and the Bees card was inspired by Leena Girsa of alacards.blogspot.com also on Pinterest.

First baby gift complete

Well this weekend I finished my first baby gift for the new niece or nephew set to arrive in just over a month. While it is not a practical gift, it is something I think my brother the photographer and his wife will like. I knit this cocoon and hat set with Lionbrand Homespun in Seafoam instead of the Tweed Stripes that the pattern called and the trim was with Luxe Fur in Ivory. I am happy with the way it turned out and glad that I got to practice a new technique (i-cord).  I think that my next project for the baby will probably be crocheted.
